Walter M. Roberts Executive Director Walter M. Roberts has over 25 years experience in the affordable housing industry. He has worked with not-for-profit organizations for the last three years on several housing development projects in the NYC Metropolitan area. Prior to 2006, he worked for the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD). He served at various levels in his 21-year career at HPD. Between 2000 and 2006, he served as Assistant Commissioner for Planning Services. In prior years, he was Director of the Neighborhood Redevelopment Program where he redeveloped 2,000 units of affordable housing. He also managed 4,600 In-Rem units as the Director of Central Harlem Property Management office. Mr. Roberts received his B.A. from Binghamton University and attended Columbia University where he earned Master degrees in both Urban Planning and Social Work. |

Marie C. Iammatteo Chief Financial Officer Marie C. Iammatteo is a financial management professional with over 25 years of experience. She holds an MBA from Pace University Graduate School of Business, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Ms. Iammatteo has been with Hope Community since March 2008, and is responsible for managing all aspects of the agency’s finance and accounting, human resources and administration. |

Evette Marshall Director of Property Management Evette Marshall has come to Home Community with over 20 years of experience in Property Management. Her experience includes all aspects of building management and support to as many as ten properties simultaneously, leasing and tenant relation for HUD Section 8 and Low Tax Credit Buildings, preparing annual operating budgets, conducting quarterly compliance audit and rent studies. Prior to joining Hope, Evette was the Director of HUD Property Management at Manhattan North Management, a for-profit developer/owner of moderate income housing in Harlem. Prior to joining Manhattan North in 2007, Ms. Marshall spent 2 years with Nickmarsh Management where she responsible for the gut-rehab and renovation of a 164 unit building. Prior to joining Nickmarsh, Evette spent 5 years at Dermot Realty and 9 years at Related Management working as a property manger in both positions. While at Dermot, among other responsibilities, she was responsible for the lease-up, staffing and management of two HDC 80/20 Moderate income (tax credit) properties. |

Nellie Plumey Director of Operations Since 1996, Ms. Plumey has served in an array of roles at Hope Community. As Hope’s Senior Project Manager, she assisted in all developmental construction phases, ranging from: grant submissions, loan closing preparations, project construction planning and management to a project’s completion – working closely with architects, attorneys, banking institutions, contractors and the governmental agencies. In Ms. Plumey’s current capacity as Hope's Director of Operations, and at the direction of the Executive Director, she will ensure that the company’s day-to-day activities run smoothly, utilizing her organizational, project management, accounting and troubleshooting skills to review and evaluate business procedures ranging from office expenditures to Asset Management. Nellie Plumey, an East Harlem resident all of her life, earned her Manhattan Community College Associate in Arts Degree and her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management from Hunter College, in New York City. For over 25 years, she has used her project management and accounting skills in both the private and not for profit sectors. |
